J. Grenney, Ph.D., P.E., Class of '59
Dr. William J. Grenney, a 1959 civil engineering
graduate of Michigan Tech, is Professor of Civil and Environmental
Engineering at Utah State University and Director of the Computer
Based Intelligent Technology Laboratory. After graduation,
Bill worked for Bethlehem Steel Company for two years. Later,
he enlisted and served five years in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer
Corps. After leaving the Navy, Dr. Grenney completed his M.S.
and Ph.D. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering at
Oregon State University while working part time for CH2M-Hill,
Inc. to support his family. He joined the faculty at Utah
State in 1972. He has served as the Associate Director of
the Utah Water Research Laboratory, the Head of the Division
of Environmental Engineering, and the Head of the Department
of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Grenney is also
the founder and Chief Executive Officer of a small consulting
business. Dr. Grenney is a world authority on using advanced
computer techniques to solve engineering problems and has
published over 180 scientific and technical publications.
He is a registered professional engineer in Colorado, Oregon,
and Utah. |
