Biography

Dr. Veronica Webster is currently an associate professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Her teaching interests include probability and statistics, stochastic hydrology, numerical methods, water resources, and risk analysis and management. Her research interests include flood frequency analysis and the evaluation of other extreme events, uncertainty analysis, and impacts of climate variability, climate change, and land use changes on the magnitude, frequency, and timing of flood flows. Dr. Webster is a recent recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award. She has a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont, and both MS and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. Dr. Webster is currently active in the organization of the annual ASCE Environmental Water Resources Institute Congress, chair of the ASCE task committee on Statistical Applications in Hydrology, and associate editor of the ASCE Journal of Hydrologic Engineering.
