James D. Townley, P.E., Class of '71, 72
Mr. James Townley completed baccalaureate
degrees in civil
engineering and business administration in
1971 and went on to earn a master's degree in civil engineering
in 1972. He has been President of Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr,
& Huber of Grand Rapids, Michigan since 1993, a company
offering civil, environmental and architectural design and
consulting services with annual sales in excess of $20 million
and 240 employees. Townley has been involved as project manager
on several major environmental projects, since taking on the
role of President his focus has shifted to the management
responsibilities of the company. His career with Fishbeck
began as a design engineer in 1979 where he specialized in
environmental projects, prior to this he was a consulting
engineer with K. Don Williamson & Associates.
Jim is a member of the National Society of
Professional Engineers, Water Environment Federation, Construction
Specifications Institute, and the American Water Works Association.
He is currently a director of the American Consulting Engineers
Council of Michigan. Jim and his wife, Linda, have two children
and reside in Rockford, Michigan.
