Peter
G. Perla, P.E., R.L.S., Class of '38
Mr. Peter G. Perla, a 1938 civil engineering graduate of Michigan
Tech, is the retired president of Perla and Stout, P.C. Upon
graduation, Peter became a village engineer for Kingsford,
Michigan. From 1941 to 1957, he was assistant engineer for
Traverse City, Michigan, a career that was interrupted by
four years of WWII service in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
In 1957, he founded his own civil engineering and land surveying
consulting firm, which became the firm of Perla and Stout.
At the same time, he became the president of three real estate
development firms before retiring from consulting in 1975.
He is a retired member and past vice president of the Michigan
Society of Professional Engineers and a retired member of
the Michigan Society of Registered Land Surveyors. He has
an outstanding record of civic service, being a member of
numerous organizations and societies. |
