Philip
R. Belisle, P.E., S.E., Class of '60, '64
Mr. Philip Belisle, Retired - President,
Applied Dynamics and Executive Vice President of Speedrack
Products Group Ltd., is originally from Lake Linden. He earned
his baccalaureate degree in civil engineering in 1960. After
serving in the U.S. Army, Corps of Engineers, as a First Lieutenant
for three years he returned to Michigan Tech and completed
a master's degree in civil engineering in 1964. Belisle then
went on to work in the area of structural engineering for
the American Bridge Division of United States Steel and the
Material Handling and Storage Division of Interlake, Inc.
where he was the Manager of Engineering and Development. He
retired in 1997 as President of Applied Dynamics and Executive
Vice-President of Speedrack Products Group of Sparta, Michigan.
Speedrack and Applied Dynamics manufacture industrial steel
storage racks with annual sales in excess of $35 million.
Mr. Belisle is past President of Rack Manufacturing
Institute and past Director of Material Handling Institute.
He is a past member of the National Society of Professional
Engineers and is a licensed Professional Engineer and/or Structural
Engineer in about a dozen states. He is also a member of the
National Fire Protection Association, the American Society
of Civil Engineers, and the Michigan Tech President's Society.
Phil and his wife, Barbara, have four children and since retirement
divide their time between Rockford, Michigan, Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina, and St. Croix, Virgin Islands. |
